Get Involved

Crooked Creek Christian Camp strives to keep program fees and user fees low, but with aging facilities and higher costs of utilities and services it is increasingly difficult to do so.  We depend on our loyal  supporters to help make the ministry of camp happen.

Bullet Financial Donations

  • Operating Fund
  • About 23% of the operating budget comes from donations.
  • Campership Fund
  • This fund is used for children who could not afford to come to camp.  Just over $2900 was given in the summer of 2009 enabling 29 children to attend camp who otherwise would not have been able to do so.
  • Shepherd’s Inn
  • Construction has begun but will continue only as funds are available.  Your donation or pledge will allow the camp to finish this project in a timely manner. After October 15, 2009, you will be able to shop at Target or Kalona Community County Store for items listed on our registry. What a great way to help furnish this new facility! And, if you shop Target Online, you can use OneCause (see below for more information) to help us twice!
  • Summer Staff Financial Assistance Fund
  • Summer staff receive minimal pay; staff who participate in this fund will receive an additional honorarium for their work at camp.
  • Shingles
  • Several buildings are in need of new roofs.
  • Endowments                                                                                               Several endowments have been set up for the following projects to ensure long-term viability.  Contact the camp for more information.
  • Members                                                                                                      Show your interest in and support of the camp by joining Southeast Iowa Mennonite Camp Association (SIMCA) as a member.  All that is required is a $200 donation and  church membership  of good standing.  You'll be affirmed as member at the next annual meeting of SIMCA held each November.                                  Partners                                                                                                    Partners are persons who commit to  annual giving.  Partnership levels start at $120/year  and can be on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.  Your donations are used to provide quality programs and services to our guests and campers.                               Prayer Partners                                                                                  Anyone can support the camp through prayer, but this group of persons is committed to praying for camp needs on a daily basis.  Prayer partners receive a quarterly update of what is happening at camp and how their prayers can best be  directed.                    New!!    Donate Through OneCause                                                We have recently learned of a great opportunity! Many of us shop online from time to time, and now you can shop with your favorite online merchants and support the camp at no additional cost to you! Hundreds of merchants are listed; merchants will donate anywhere from 1% to 8% or more to your 'cause'. Here's how it works: 1. go to www.onecause.com and click on 'join' in the upper right hand corner of the website. 2. Designate Crooked Creek Christian Camp as your cause of choice.  Then, when you are ready to shop, go to www.onecause.com,  find your favorite merchant, click on it and shop as you normally would. Donations from your online shopping will support the camp's ministry. We hope you'll join this effort if you shop online, and we'll report as funds are received. We appreciate your continued support of the camp and its outreach.

Contact the camp for information on how to become a member, partner, or prayer partner.
